Listen to Flyte – Won’t Be Home For Christmas
Following a roaring sold-out headline show at Village Underground, joint on stage by Jess Stavely Taylor of the Staves, Flyte today release a ditty for Christmas, ‘Won’t Be Home For Christmas,’ produced by Dave Cerminara (Father John Misty, Weyes Blood) in LA during their Jade Bird support tour. The stunning Christmas song follows the themes of the White Roses EP, the start of a self-assured, reflective and intimate narrative from the three-piece –revealing new personal depths.
Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album The Loved Ones, Flyte has been back in the studio with long term collaborator Burke Reid (Courtney Barnett, Julia Jacklin) and Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, The National) on mixing duties. Releasing ‘White Roses’ featuring the Staves last month, the band have been on the road playing a handful of festivals including British Summer Time, Larmer Tree and Deershed Festival, as well as a sell-out headline at Omeara. The band have welcomed Jess Stavely Taylor of the Staves to play with them live this summer, marking an exciting new era for Flyte.
Flyte honed their craft through years of dedication and friendship, writing their first full-length record in 2017 and gaining a reputation for their trademark vocal arrangements. The Sunday Times proclaimed The Loved Ones to be “The Best British debut album of the year”. A staggering Scala headline followed, with a sold-out UK tour, and European & UK dates with the Lemon Twigs and Lord Huron. Flyte will travel to the States to begin an extensive tour with Jade Bird this summer, laying more foundations after a brilliant SXSW.
