Indie duo and married couple Elenowen Give Us a Little Taste of New Album “Say I Don’t Scare You” With Latest Single “Up From Here”
The new single “Up From Here” will be featured on the band’s forthcoming new album Say I Don’t Scare You, out on November 5th. “Up From Here” is the final track on the album, and showcases dreamy pedal steel work that weaves in and out of soaring vocal harmonies from Josh & Nicole.
The upcoming album is themed as a conversation between the two of them in the midst of uprooting and examining old truths, and the fight to keep their love alive. Ultimately the process has allowed the duo to grow and change together, resulting in a stronger musical and loving partnership than ever before.
The duo declares: “‘Up from Here’ is an honest look into the struggles of being ‘starving artists,’ but leans into the hope that one day it’ll all work out. It’s the last song off the upcoming album that sums up the overall theme of doing what you love even when the future is uncertain.
After appearing as contestants on the first season of NBC’s The Voice in 2011, the duo began touring extensively, steadily growing their fanbase all over the country. Their autobiographical songwriting style was first introduced in their debut album Pulling Back the Veil, unpacking and reflecting on the first year of the couple’s marriage.
The follow-up album, For the Taking, which was produced by renowned songwriter Trent Dabbs and Jeremy Bose, focused on growing up and pushing forward to achieve lifelong dreams.
