Bok Nero delivers new powerful single ‘Toxic Rain’ produced by David Mugratsch via Dim Mak
Shedding light on toxic relationships and unrequited love, “Toxic Rain” was a cathartic writing experience for Bok who typically dislikes talking about his feelings. While talking about his feelings is challenging, making music about them comes more naturally to Bok. While questioning himself on “why do I invest so much into these relationships to the point I feel empty when it’s over?” – Bok found closure in his own situation, while also creating a healing song for the listener with “Toxic Rain.”
After coming up with the main lyrics and melody, Bok connected with David Mugratsch to build on his idea, and execute a track similar to Kaytranada’s vibe. The result is a sonically soothing anti-love song, and a further display of Bok’s artistry.
David Mugratsch is a 19 year old producer from Germany, who has been producing since age 11. Another introvert who would rather use music to convey his feelings, David spends most of his time in the studio and was stoked to work with Bok on producing “Toxic Rain.”
David says: “When Bok hit me up and asked if I had a cool piano house beat, I went through some older projects and found this chord progression I made when I was 15 years old! I’ve put it in a new session and was able to build the foundation of the whole song in four hours. I sent Bok a 30-second snippet of it. He loved it, so I kept working on it and finished the whole beat within the next 24h. A few days later, I received the vocals that Bok wrote. I honestly couldn’t believe that he nailed the vocals so perfectly. I mixed and mastered it right after and here we are. Bok is very talented and I loved working together with him on this track. I’m very happy that this song is finally out on DIM MAK!”
