Pop duo Alexandra John deliver new stunning EP ‘Healing’
In 2020, musical (and actual) twins, Liza, and Weston Cain, combined their middle names to form Alexandra John, and quickly began to hone their unique brand of pop that both inspires and illuminates the soul.
Having put out three singles this year – “Demons,” “Strung Out,” and “Lock Me Down” – Alexandra John is now capping off 2022 with the release of their much-anticipated debut EP, Healing.
Additionally, the band will play a special show coinciding with their EP release on Friday, December 16 at Hotel Ziggy in Los Angeles presented by We Found New Music.
Weston shares: “The idea for the EP came about during the pandemic, as we were all grieving our old lives and accepting the new.”
Liza adds: “Everyone goes through healing, every day. The EP lyrically breaks down the process of grieving from denial to acceptance. Each song on the EP adds a new layer of acceptance. It’s really about the growth we all go through while experiencing this crazy beautiful thing we call life.”
The official music video for “Healing” was done by Mallory Turner. “We have always admired Mallory’s work with colors and knew she’d be a perfect fit for the music video,” says the band. “We wanted to use colors to represent the emotions of grief and have a fun creative spin on the heavy subject matter that everyone challenges. At the beginning we wanted to have it black and white to show the initial barrier/trauma that our minds and bodies go through when grief begins. The colors go as such; denial is represented by purple, angry by red, bargaining by green, depression by blue and lastly acceptance by yellow.”
Check out Healing now and expect more to come from Alexandra John in 2023.
