I am 22,my real name is Mia Elizabeth Hayes, Elizmi Haze is my Artist name. My Mum and Myself made it up, by combining Mia and Elizabeth, as the name Mia was and is still too popular.
I am a Singer, Songwriter/producer, Model, Actress, and Influencer.
Where are you from?
I was born in Chatham Kent in the UK. At five years old, my parents moved from Kent in the Southeast of England to Murcia in Spain.
We lived in a big town in the mountains. I learnt Spanish quickly. My parents deliberately went to live in a Spanish town so I could learn the culture and language. I did very well at school and can speak like a native. I even taught the English classes at school. We came back to England when I was 13.
As you can see I was into music when I was 6, joining the church band.
When did you start making music?
I started writing music when I was 14/15 years old. Being bullied at school for being different, I used music and my songs to express myself. The kids were brutal and writing songs made me feel better, I must admit they were quite dark in those days. This made me want to succeed in a music career, getting top marks in my exams and going to college first to study Musical Theatre and then Music.
How do you describe your music?
At 17, I wanted to be a R&B singer, But I love several genres. I mix them when I write naturally because it’s hard to pick just one my music drifts from RnB to Jazz cords or HipHop.Tallest Hill my debut single and Shine are very dance orientated. I found a producer to help me with my music. Kevin was awesome, coming from an EDM background and putting his little spins on the music too. This combined with my soul/jazz full voice makes a totally unique sound. But now, as I have grown and found my feet so to speak, my music has become more Pop/ R&B. I also found out I could rap. With the combination of my voice and rappin people are surprised, quite often. I have morphed quite a bit, from when I was 17 but I hope that PEOPLE LISTEN TO MY LYRICS and feel a connection. Feel they are not alone. Feel the vibe with the combination of all the elements in my creations and get that chill sweeping up their arms.
Favorite moment from your career?
My best moment was flying to the United States of America last year 2019. I was lucky enough to be nominated for a songwriting award from The Artemis Womens in Action Film Awards. That was amazing, The Red carpet was in Hollywood, and the award ceremony was in Beverly Hills. This was for my track Magical, which I also received two other awards for, both for the live performance video.
Who is your biggest musical inspiration?
- Ella Fitzgerald, She was one of the first singers I wanted to sound like. She was a total musical icon, and like Aretha Franklin had a most amazing voice.
- Khalid, He is so different. He has such a unique voice, although there are a few guys now trying to copy him. He is amazing, his style and persona are unique.
- Ariana Grande, she has an amazing voice, I want to be able to sing that good. I also like her style and branding, her clothes are so her… the branding is awesome.
What is your producing software?
Logic, I used logic in college, and find it very good. At the moment I have a macbook air with an external 3T hard drive. Before I used the extra hard drive my mac would constantly freeze. Now I don’t have to worry how many instruments I use. I am still learning, which has been the hardest thing I have ever done. Remembering!
What other things do you do besides making music?
I sing, of course, and have done some acting. Lately, I started influencing on instagram just before the whole corvid 19 thing hit. A little more MGK ft Victoria Monet by Machine Gun Kelly. There are such a lot of strong messages in the song, basically about what is going on in the world today. I feel connected and that is what I want people to feel about my music. He is also one of my all time favorite influences too.
What is your best-producing tip?

Why did you start making music?
I have sung at the Chip Shop in Brixton, an awesome HipHop venue, worked with some awesome professionals, found a great Booking Agent, toured last year around the UK and even did a mini tour around the UK schools, singing and chatting about bullying.
I have a little mantra I say every day, an affirmation, to success. And it’s working. “Never a failure, always a lesson”.

Please write a message to your fans.
I am eternally grateful to my fans, if it wasn’t for them I would not be where I am now! Music is a hard game but you reap what you sow and having you all listening and enjoying my tracks makes the hard work and sacrifice worth while. I also hope you feel connected, and not alone. My lyrics are from real life, they all send a message to be strong and to self love.
I have some new tracks coming out soon. My debut Album will be out next year but you will be able to get some of the tracks before. Some are coming out as singles. The first off the album is I DON’T CARE, which will be dropping at the end of Aug.
