Haiden Henderson drops his ‘tension’ EP, exploring unresolved emotion with raw pop vulnerability.

Haiden Henderson delivers his most intimate project to date with the release of his new tension EP, now available via LAVA/Republic Records. The eight-track collection paints a portrait of complicated emotions, anchored in a storyline that traces a friendship-turned-romantic relationship and the lingering tension that followed its end.

“A friendship-turned-romantic stitches all of these songs together,” Haiden shares. “It complicated my life. tension follows the arc of this situation becoming complicated and falling out. Since the relationship ended without closure, the songs are my way of getting my side of the story out. More than anything I’ve made in the past, there’s a journey within this project for anyone open to it.”

Listeners were first introduced to the EP’s emotional layers through early singles such as “lovesucker,” “lips,” and “sweat.” The title track “tension” stands out as a sonic centerpiece, combining grainy guitar textures and slinky basslines with Haiden’s emotionally charged vocals. He addresses the discomfort of proximity to an ex, repeating the words: “You still live, down the street, we don’t speak, tension’s all I know.”

Since emerging in 2021, Haiden has cultivated a growing following through releases like Good Grief, Choke on My Heart, and lover boy — with “hell of a good time” reaching 25 million streams. His energetic live performances and acclaimed support slots for artists like MICO and Landon Barker have only expanded his reach.

Haiden will bring tension to the stage this fall during his first-ever headline tour. The North American leg kicks off August 8 in San Diego and ends August 28 in Los Angeles. He will also headline a show in London this September at The Garage.
