Los Angeles Rising Music Star Carly Rose Unveils Her Debut 7-Songs EP ‘Wild‘ Including EP Title Track with Goody Grace
Carly Rose releases her eagerly anticipated debut EP WILD. Writing all of her own songs, Carly offers commentary on weighty topics such as drug addiction and lost youth, yet packages it in a way that is accessible to a wide range of listeners. Listen once and you might hear a fun song to jam to. Listen deeper and you could find yourself contemplating some of life’s most topical and challenging issues.
The New EP ‘Wild’ by Carly Rose features acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer, Goody Grace. The duet between Carly and Goody was largely inspired by the relationship between the two main characters in the blockbuster hit, A Star Is Born, with some additional personal inspiration weaved in. The track tells the story of a dramatically dysfunctional, but beautifully passionate relationship, from the perspective of the partner who is too invested to walk away.
Carly Says about the New EP, “This EP is so important to me. This collection of songs largely examines the theme of substance abuse that has plagued many of my most coveted relationships. Being a witness to more self-destructive behavior than I can keep track of from the ones I have loved and many who I have lost, led me to put all that confusion, frustration, and heartache into The Wild EP. In many ways, I see this body of work as my way of making peace with the years of my life these songs pull from. That’s why it’s not an EP filled with sad piano ballads. It’s the songs you listen to when you realize how badass it is when you are able to come out on the other side of hardship.”
Carly dropped her end of summer anthem, “Song of the Summer,” an ironic twist on the quintessential summer song. Carly wrote the track in quarantine during a time of reflection, looking back on moments of her life in love that she once thought were amazing and beautiful, until she took off her rose-colored glasses. This song’s evocative lyrics conjure a sense of nostalgia while also serving as a reminder that hindsight is 20/20.
The Rising Star kicked off this summer with the release of “twentyone,” a track she wrote before she turned 21, paying homage to young artists who rose to superstardom, but never lived to see their twenty first birthday. The song explores the lifestyle of excess and immense power that comes along with fame in today’s society, which can be intoxicating, yet incredibly destructive.
